# Are words in the notes section included in word counts?

No, words written in your notes section are not included in your word count analytics. **They are, however, included in your words written statistics.**

If you wrote anywhere in Novlr, these words will be calculated into your **words written** totals. But only words added to the manuscript word count of any individual project will be counted toward your word count analytics.
