# Can I change the font in Novlr? (legacy)

Novlr offers three preset font types and multiple size options. Our default font is a serif font, but you can also choose from a sans-serif and a monospace font,

| We use Merriweather as our default typeset as it was designed to be highly readable on screens – essential for a web app like ours.

We've chosen our font families because they contain a full set of weights and styles with matching italics to make formatting a breeze. They also have diverse character sets, making them usable across many different languages.

If you want to change the font size, you can do this by opening the settings modal, clicking on the **Writing** tab, and selecting your preferred font size and type.
